Boomer Cars
Boomer Cars
Quadriptych of four popular cars from the baby boomer era.
The first - an early postwar rush produced after years of rationing raw materials, thus sacrificing aby style points.
The second is a 1956 cadillac convertible - Elvis drove one, rich doctors drove them, they were the ultimate in luxury in a time before imported Mercedes or Italian sports cars.
The third - the VW Bus, 1966 - the ultimate simple car, roomy enough for hippies and more, able to traverse the entire country in a roving party. The righteous reaction against the bourgeoise cadillac.
And the last is the 1970 BMW sedan - the fast, stylish, hip expensive hot car of the seventies, when they laid the revolution to rest.
Giclée print on 12” x 15” archival acid free Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. Limited first edition, pencil signed and dated.
